Hello!
I grew up in Santa Maria, a small BBQ & strawberry town perched on the elbow of CA. Family and friends are everything to me.
I'm happy and proud to be a performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade. My amazing teachers included: Lennon Parham, Eric Scott, Joe Wengert, Charlie Todd, Chris Gethard and Anthony King.
I co-wrote and starred in 2Pac: The Musical! - a long-running bi-coastal Jukebox Musical satire. Wrote and performed in Celebrity Funeral: Sarah Jessica Parker as a desperate DVD-pedaling Hugh Grant, The It Sucked Awards! as a lonely Facebook Dad, Late Night Trash as a Sassy VonDutch hat + more – all on the UCB stage. Other writing projects include: E! True Hollywood Story: Matthew McCounaghey's Shirt (a web-series about the shirt Matt never wears) and Big Brother: Victims & Their Attackers (an online parody of the once popular CBS show).
I'm currently working on a one-man sketch show - "Kevin DeBacker Is A Prophet of God," about growing up in a - praying-in-tongues home (think Jesus Camp), co-wrote a half-hour comedy pilot slated to be the best thing since MASH, and a coffee table book making fun of Urban Outfitter's books.
Lastly, I'm a graduate of the University of California Irvine with majors in Anthropology and Theatre.
